Greece: Brown Hotels has opened the fourth ‘DAVE – Son of a Brown’ property in Athens, marking the first DAVE branded hotel outside of Tel Aviv.
DAVE Red Athens is located on Omonia Square and joins DAVE Gordon, DAVE Levinsky and DAVE Downtown in Tel Aviv.
A wall mural at the hotel’s entrance pays homage to the building’s history as the former headquarters of the KKE (Communist Party of Greece). A mezzanine area is kitted with a bar, pool tables, original Nintendo and Packman consoles, arcade machine, and adjoining meeting room.
87 guest rooms are spread across four room types, each featuring a walk-in shower, Olive Era bath products, 43” TV, minibar and espresso machine.
On the ground floor, a bar and restaurant and soon-to-launch underground nightclub will be operated by Six D.o.g.s hospitality group. The roof terrace offers a sundeck, pool tables jacuzzi hotel tub, massage room and complimentary sparkling wine on tap.
Leon Avigad, founder of Brown Hotels, said: “Following the success of the three DAVE properties in Tel Aviv, we decided to introduce the concept to Athens, bringing the Brown Hotels’ playful counterpart to the revamped Omonia Square. Situated by the recently opened Brown Acropol, and the soon-to-open Lighthouse Athens, DAVE Red Athens presents a young and lively hospitality offering that is unrivalled in the city.”
Brown Hotels plans to open seven additional properties in Athens by 2023. Other Greek locations include Thessaloniki, Corinthia, Crete, Corfu and Cyprus.
