Many hotels offer Day Room rates for those who want to work in a hotel during the daytime or need a bed and services during a long transit.
There are often challenges with many chains when it comes to booking them. Hilton, however, has made booking Day Rooms super easy. You just need to use the exact date for checking in and out, and the search returns the hotels with this rate plan loaded.
You can access Hilton here.
Hilton Day Room Search:
You just need to have both the check-in and out dates the same.
Two Examples:
Hilton Helsinki Airport
There are various room types available under this rate plan.
They use the word Workspaces – Day Use, but I would assume that these are mainly used for long transits as they are an airport hotel.
Hilton Frankfurt Airport
There are two Hilton-affiliated hotels in the same complex; Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn.
There are several rate plans loaded under
At the Hilton, the rooms are clearly “marketed as Day Use.”
When Booking “Day Use” Room Makes Sense?
You have a long transit at an airport or need a room in a city during the daytime hours.
If you need an early check-in, you can always start your Hilton stay with a Day Room (9 AM). No need to pay for the total night charge. You do have to make two separate reservations, however.
You may need room for status qualification or promo purposes, and Day Roomarebe cheaper.
Benefits?
All Hilton Gold & Diamond benefits apply; they are eligible for stay and night credits and all Honors promotions. I have received Executive Lounge access on these day rates.
Conclusion
Hilton has made booking these Day Use or Workspace rates super easy, and I tend to use them for longer layovers at properties very close to or attached to the airport.
I am genuinely baffled why other hotel chains make it extremely difficult to book these. They might be available by calling, but it is no longer the 1990s. These should be available on branded websites.
