When you are making reservations on Hilton’s website or app, you always see a 2X POINTS-rate plan and may wonder if it is worth booking?
The rate plan always comes with a premium price attached and earns you double the base Honors points you would earn for the stay.

The price difference between the lowest and the Double Points rate is 4,860 yen + 13% service charge (5,492 yen total).
You would have earned (before any tier or other bonuses) 2,195 Honors points for the 22,950 + 13% service charge rate (no points for the service charge).
The double points rate would earn you 2,659 + 2,659 (double points).
You would pay $53 for 2,659 points that you could directly buy from Hilton during any 100% bonus sales for half of a cent each, which is $13.30.
Conclusion
These double point packages make absolutely no sense for anyone else than for business travelers who can expense their stays.
Unless it is your own company, this is likely unethical and could lead to termination if someone audits the stays and finds this out.
If you need more Hilton Honors points, do buy them during frequent 100% bonus sales .
